Life at Quail House
Everyday moments that make our house a home
A Day in Our Home
Life at QUAIL House follows a rhythm that balances structure with flexibility, allowing each resident to thrive in a supportive environment while maintaining their independence.
Mornings
Communal breakfast and engaging activities
Our day begins early, with residents rising around 5:00 AM to prepare for daily activities. Breakfast is a communal affair, with everyone gathering to share the first meal of the day before heading off to various activities.
Mornings are typically our most active time. Our spacious backyard, complete with a gazebo for shade, provides the perfect setting for outdoor games and exercise. Inside, residents might engage with puzzles, art projects, or other activities that spark creativity and joy.
Daytime Activities
Outdoor exploration and personalized pursuits
Most residents enjoy accompanied walks during the day, exploring favorite spots like the old railway trail, Lac Leamy, and the beautiful sugar bush. Community outings—whether to the grocery store, bowling alley, or local cinema—are always highlights of the month.
Afternoons often bring a gentler pace. Some residents rest, while others listen to music, watch favorite programs, or engage in personal interests. Each person's preferences and needs shape their daily experience.
Evenings Together
Shared meals and peaceful wind-down
Dinner brings everyone back together for a shared meal. Evenings feature quiet activities, personal care routines, and preparation for bed, with residents retiring between 7:00 and 11:00 PM according to their preference.
Throughout each day, our approach focuses on creating a home-like atmosphere where residents feel both supported and empowered.
